Let’s compare what a small business needs and have with what large corporations have and need.
Small businesses don’t have it as lucky because they need more exposure (compared to a more popular and much more successful bigger international names), they need to expand, they need attention but what is missing is the one single ingredient that could accelerate the whole process…money.
When money is a problem, we need to get smart. Smart, in the modern world that we live in today, is almost always about technology. Quite a number of small businesses are quickly catching on to the technology train by having a website, a blog, facebook account, twitter and other online social networking sites. Getting onto those sites give them a bigger stage to play on, you see.
If you have not, before this, heard about QR Code and have no inkling as to what they are used for, here is some short introduction and further explanation about how it will help change the scene for small businesses. QR stands for quick response which gives you instant access to online information. So, instead of having to key in a long URL, all you do is pick up your phone, activate your camera, scan the QR Code and you can get to the information instantly without having to wait till you get home and log onto the internet.
How will this change anything for small businesses? For one, it makes promotion and marketing much easier. On top of that, it also makes tracking who accessed the QR Code and their location will be revealed to you. There will also be less printing, less need for paper which is good for the environment too. So, is that going to make a difference to how you do business?
While giant corporations continue to splurge their bucks on commercials, nationwide radio programs, you could make full use of asking people to scan a QR Code and follow you on twitter. And you know how the online world goes – it’s global and it is mighty quick. The battleground is now even…big businesses have their big bucks while small businesses will thrive smaller budgets but bigger smarts.
