If you’ve been to Madison Square lately, you may have noticed a not-too-subtle advertisement right on The Arena Spectacular. It’s dino time again and this time they’re going to be aiming for Guiness Book of World Records!
Fans of ‘Walking With Dinosaurs’ or just dinosaurs the magnificent creatures, this is your chance to show off your vocal prowess. No, not through song and dance but by delivering your mightiest, loudest, meanest, most scary dino roar. The record-breaking event is going to be held at Madison Square Garden from July 21 to July 25 but if you are keen to send in your version of a dino roar, you can load up their website (GreatDinoRoar.com) and upload your roar via mobile phone, computer or web-cam. Then MSG Entertainment will scann through all submissions for selection which will be featured during the mega event.
Anyway, it is an interesting event and they are surely advertising it in a big way with a huge poster and a QR Code. The advertisement was done hand-in-hand with The Watsons and the banner we are talking about is more than a hundred feet tall….talk about real dino size. Everything is larger than life here. If you want to take a look at it or try out the QR Code, head out to Madison Square Garden and you simply can’t miss the giant banner at the corner of 33rd Street and 7th Avenue.
Right smack in the middle of the poster is a gargantuan QR Code. Use the QR Code reader on your smart phone and scan the QR Code. It will, if scanned properly, resolve to the GreatDinoRoar.com website.
When you participate in the roaring contest, you stand the chance of winning prizes like VIP tickets and backstage passes for their tours. And plus, you get to be a part of a historical event in coming up with a record-breaking feat Who knows? You might be one of those who breaks the dino-meter.
For those of you who do not have smart phones and can’t scan the QR Code, well, you can always be a happy viewer. For tickets and other media related stuff, give them a call at 212.465.6080.
What we are really happy about is the fact that it is a proof that QR Code technology is permeating NYC in a big way…a very big way. And for us, QR Code enthusiasts, it’s not only incredibly exciting, it’s historical.
