Insurer Uses QR Codes to Educate Borrowers
State National Companies have started to include QR codes to their welcome, cancellation and renewal notices for their collateral protection insurance product lines.
When these codes are scanned, users are taken to State National’s website where they can view 30-second videos that explains what the notices they received mean and other important details about collateral protection insurance.
Trace Ledbetter, State National Companies’ senior vice president hopes that the QR codes would help the lenders develop positive relationships borrowers while also disseminating more information about their products. Ledbetter also says that early feedback has been encouraging and that it delivers the results they are looking for.
Ledbetter also adds that the QR codes help put a human face to their insurance tracking and CPI processes. What’s more, the QR codes are able to let them provide the right content to their lenders. For example, those who receive a renewal notice will get to view a video explaining what a renewal is and how easy it would be to renew. The videos are all easy to understand and delivered in a straight talk manner.
LG Uses QR codes in New TV Ad
In South Korea, LG Electronics has come out with a new TV commercial that makes use of a QR code to promote the new LG Optimus Vu.
The commercial has a tagline that goes “If you have not smiled lately, scan this” referring to the QR code.
Those who do scan the code are taken to a site that hosts “fun videos”. At the moment, however, there is only one video available. The LG QR code makes use of a Meta refresh URL, which allows them to deliver unique and new content over time. This means that there would be more fun videos coming.
