Want to know when the latest Guess watch will come out? Do you want to keep in touch with the people behind the popular watch brand name and engage them in design, promotion, sales and coupon downloads? You no longer have to make guesses anymore because GUESS announced that they have launched an extensive and interactive app specifically for iPhone and iPad using a QR Code.
The app was launched in London, more specifically on Regent Street stores. When their retail customers scan the code, they can then download the app onto their iPads and iPhones and interact with people manning the app sites. It was also said that the app comes with an inbuilt augmented reality called GUESS Live which brings special, exclusive promotions to their fans. The app also uses the phone and tablet’s GPS to find the nearest store.
It might not sound like much to the rest of us who are already watching how people continually latch onto QR Code technology as a part of their mobile marketing strategy, but for the watch industry, I guess you could say that they are the first to be in on it. Marie Grove-Walton, GUESS’ UK marketing director said that the new app is the perfect vehicle for the company to get feedback from their fan base, engage them and encourage a stronger loyal following. And besides, no one leaves home without their phones these days…and to the company, this means that they get to follow their fan base just about everywhere they go. The app presents a chance for the company to offer unique offers and experiences to their fans.
Grove-Walton is right to say that they are the first in the fashion watch brand industry to hop onto the QR Code bandwagon. ‘Instead of relying on third party applications, which we have dubbed Guess Live – creating an experience that is interactive and engaging with our customers with the app,’ quotes the report.
The company will also be launching new collections with the app via an interactive competition for their men’s and women’s AW12 watch and jewelry collection which will be linked to some key events happening all across the United Kingdom starting October 6th this year.
