Going green seems to be what is on everybody’s minds nowadays. For starters, green products are very popular right now. And a lot of people are patronizing companies who have a heart for the environment.
We are excited that the U.S. Department of Energy has come out with specific guidelines for car manufacturers on fuel economy stickers. These stickers will be required to be posted on all news cars by 2013.
Fuel economy stickers are not new, what’s new is that the new stickers now have more information. You can literally shop and compare cars, know which ones are going to save you money and save the earth all in one go.
The car stickers now show what type of fuel you’re going to use , its fuel economy rating, annual fuel cost, greenhouse gas rating, and smog rating.
The new design also features a QR code, which would take prospective car buyers to an online site that compares different car models on the basis of fuel economy. What’s more the interactive site also gives you the chance to estimate your gas costs after you enter information on your driving and commute behavior. Basically, the QR code will take you to a site where you can get a more customized rating for your car.
Fuel economy stickers for hybrid cars and electric cars differ slightly from gasoline cars.
The new stickers would certainly help consumers save up, especially now that gas prices are steadily increasing. It also helps you become more environmentally conscious. And with a help from the QR code, you can have a more accurate estimate that addresses your needs.
