Are QR codes worth it? When you include a QR code with your marketing materials, how sure are you that your customers would take the time to scan it? Are people still scanning QR codes or not?
NeoMedia Technologies, a global mobile barcode management solutions company, has released encouraging data about the use of QR codes.
Statistics from the firm confirmed that QR code scanning has increased in the second quarter by 39%, compared to the first quarter of 2012. Barcode scanning also increased by 41%. A lot of these scans came from Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain.
The company released the data as part of its press release that also revealed that 25 million users have installed their popular NeoReader mobile app. More than half of these were on Android devices.
This is great news that shows that not only are more companies using QR codes for their marketing, but there are more customers scanning them as well. That should be enough reason why marketers should continue using QR codes in their efforts.
If you want to know for sure whether people are scanning your QR codes, be sure to track your QR codes. BeQRious gives you the ability not only to create your QR code, but also allows you to track these codes.
BeQRious’ tracking statistics go more than just counting the number of scans. What you get is a wealth of information and insights that could help you fine tune future QR code campaigns. For example, know which codes are being scanned by your target market. Know where they are being scanned as well as the time they are being scanned.
All of these insights are very valuable for you to be able to make your next QR code marketing effort a lot better. For example, you could focus on the places where your QR codes are being scanned. It can also help you determine if there are problem areas that you should fix.
