Just recently, Macy’s unveiled their Backstage Pass campaign which employs QR codes which took people to videos that gave them fashion tips, fashion advice and even the latest information from designers and respected authorities.
Now, clothes shoppers at Macy’s would be able to scan the QR code while shopping for a Tommy Hilfiger shirt, and then get more information from the designer himself about his latest lines of clothes, his designs and how to be more fashionable.
And it’s not just Hilfiger. Macy’s has assembled a veritable list of who’s who for their videos. The list includes fashion designers Michael Kors, Irena Shabayeva, Greg Norman, and Rachel Roy; movie and music stars Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, P. Diddy; and celebrities such as Martha Stewart and Donald Trump.
While it is easy enough to access the videos, Macy’s take it a step further by coming up with a how-to video teaching consumers how to scan the codes. The video is downloadable from Macy’s special Find Your Magic website or by texting “LEARN” to 62297 (MACYS). They also allow you to download a QR code scanner by texting “READER” to the same number.
What’s more, Macy’s make use of customized QR codes that gives us another take on the retailer’s iconic red star. Shoppers can scan the codes and watch the videos on their smartphones.
Don’t have a smartphone or a QR code scanner app? No problem, you can receive the videos as a multimedia message on any multimedia-enabled phone!
