Although QR Codes has been seen to have penetrated the West since a couple of years ago, we admittedly have to say that there continues to be a gapping hole and a bridge needs to be built. The learning curve for this one is a tough one to conquer basically, as far as I can see, due to the barrage of new information and stuff that people are being thrown…all at the same time.
When people are overwhelmed, they prefer to stay on in their comfort zones, you see, so, this could be a hindrance to the growth of QR Code usage. If you are one of those people who already own a smartphone, have read about QR Codes but have never attempted to scan them, we don’t blame you. At this point, the only solution is to educate new smartphone users without overwhelming them.
First of all, don’t be intimidated and be willing to learn. You can start the learning process by downloading, installing and start using a QR Code scanner. After using it, you will be ready to test-drive our free QR Code generator and this is where all the fun begins.
I guess, after learning how to use and create it, the next barricade would be to use it for mCommerce purposes. In many shops, online AND offline, people are already starting to accept mobile payments with the aid of QR Codes. It is most certainly drawing attention and people are, not surprisingly, curious and interested. With mobile payment, the biggest concern for smartphone users would be safety and security of their personal information. The other perceivable obstacle would be how to use it for loyalty programs and downloading and redemption of discount coupons and such.
If you want people to have the confidence when they embark on a new QR Code journey with you, you need to offer them instructions and assurance. Guide them, hold their hands and tell them that it is easy and safe to use your QR Codes. Don’t assume that your customers know what to do with the large QR Code that you have placed on your store window – a little bit of information goes a long way, so, offer them that information.
If you are ready to embark on this new QR Code journey, start by downloading the scanner app and use it. Remember to take a look at the digital destination that the code will take you to before confirming and then get ready to have a little bit of fun.
